Stand Out: Install Your Own Home Shelves

Do you feel like home is missing something? Perhaps it’s time to install your own home shelves. Whether you want a more customised installation or need extra storage, shelves are an easy and inexpensive way to add some character and style to your home! All that’s left for you to do is find out what type of home shelf will work best in your space.

First, pick the type of shelve you want

Many homeowners go for the basic shelf, a simple design with one shelf and a minimalistic look. This type of shelve can be installed vertically or horizontally in your home according to what fits best in the space you have available. These home shelves provide extra room for storing things like dishes, electronics, glasses, ornaments and even toys! The key here is not to overthink this decision but instead focus on how much use you will get out of it daily.

Different shelving materials to choose from

Once you’ve decided on the home shelves, it is time to pick what material will work best for your home and style preferences. You can choose from Burnt Scaffold Boards, Metal Home Shelves, Glass Home Shelving units or even Coloured-Foamed Plastic if preferred! All of these materials come in various colours, so keep that in mind when selecting the type of shelve you want, because painted home shelves are an easy way to add some flair to your room without having to do much else! Just be sure not to overdo it with too many colour changes, as this may become overwhelming throughout the rest of your space.

Installing home shelves

First of all, figure out where you want to install the shelves. This is the best way to ensure that your shelf will have enough room for getting items in and out of it quickly. Allow space around the shelving unit, so there are no accidents or injuries when trying to access items.

Secondly, measure how high you would like each home shelf to be by measuring from the bottom up with one hand until reaching desired height while holding your drill at waist level with the other hand before marking that spot on the wall using a pencil. Repeat this step two more times if installing shelves horizontally across a section of the wall/lengthwise along the entire length of the wall, respectively depending upon what type of shelves you have chosen to install.

Next, use a level to ensure that shelves will be straight by marking where the level’s bubble is on each pencil mark then transferring those marks onto the wall as needed for accuracy before drilling pilot holes at each marked spot.

Finally, insert screws into drilled pilot holes and attach shelf brackets accordingly, ensuring they are tightened securely before placing them onto brackets and standing back to admire your handy work! Just be careful not to overload the shelves with too many items, which may cause them to collapse over time.

Now that you know how easy it is to install home shelves, what are you waiting for? Get started on creating the perfect home for you and your family today.
