DIY Worry dolls

Worry dolls originate from the highland indigenous people of Guatemala and are also found in Mexico! They are things I have used for years and to this day I have them under my pillow to take my worries away. Worry Dolls are a fab thing to give to older children who suffer with anxiety and by getting them to make their own too, is a great way of helping them heal. You can make them in any colours you like and add any embellishments too. Tell them your worries and they will take them away!

You will need:

*Wooden peg dolls

*Coloured yarn or thread

*Embellishments

*Black pen or bio

*Glue gun or craft glue

Directions:

  1. Carefully wrap the wooden peg doll's torso tightly with coloured yarn, securing each end with glue.

  2. Glue either mini pom-poms or other embellishments onto the doll's head.

  3. Finish the doll by adding the eyes using a black pen or biro.

  4. Place under your pillow to take your worries away!
