DIY Doughnut cutie
The beautiful Bonnie-beau has modelled this cute DIY doughnut costume for us and she looks so lovely. This costume is so easy to make and can be done in an hour or two, with little craft skills needed. See below for how it has been made.....
You will need:
*Brown and pink card
*Coloured felt or card
*Takeaway coffee cup (paper preferably)
*Wooden dowel or stick
To make the main doughnut:
Draw and cut two large circles from brown card (this will be the doughnut) and two circles from pink card (this will be the frosting).
Carefully cut a hole in the centre of each circle.
With scissors, create a wavy pattern on the edge of each pink circle.
Glue the pink circles onto the brown circles, you should see the brown underneath.
From a range of coloured felt sheets, draw and cut thin rectangles - these will be the sugar strands for the doughnut.
Glue the coloured sugar strands onto the front and back of the doughnut.
From brown card, draw and cut two long strips, these will be the straps.
Attach the straps onto the front and back of the doughnut - adjust to fit your child.
To make the headband:
Glue a large bundle of toy stuffing into the inside of the cup (this will represent the cream).
Roll some tissue paper into a ball and glue onto the end of a wooden stick. Push the stick into the toy stuffing and glue into place.
Using the steps above, create a mini doughnut from the excess card and felt. Glue onto the front of the cup.
Glue the cup onto the headband, making sure it is fully secure.
