Have you ever looked at your bathroom and wondered if you should shake things up with a revamp? If you are thinking yes, then you need to think about how you can update it. But what can you do? Change the tiles

What are the tiles like in your bathroom? Are they still in good condition or are they looking aged? Over time, cracks can appear in the grout and the tiles can crack. IF this is your bathroom, you could consider changing the wall coverings. If you don’t want to tile anything, tile effect shower panels can give you the look of tiles without the need to retile the bathroom. Of course, the aim is to ensure that the wall coverings are waterproof and that no leaks appear in the house. With this in mind, ensure whatever you do covers your waterproofing needs.

New bath

The bathroom is named after the big item in it, the bath. The question is, do you still use your bath? If the answer is yes, then you could think about getting a new bath installed. There are a wide range of options available that will ensure that you are bathing in comfort. The alternative is to take the shower out and just have a shawer fitted. Both are excellent options, it just comes down to what you need in your bathroom. If you do decide to get a new bath, there is a wide range of options that you can choose from including a spa and jets for the added feeling of luxury.

Change the taps

The items in your bathroom are probably fine but the hardware that is there could do with being updated. New taps are a great way to change the look of a bathroom without having to rip the whole thing out. Also, changing the hardware means that any annoying drips and leaks can be removed, saving you money on the water bill. The taps and hardware can be one of the most expensive items that you can replace so make sure that you choose wisely before you go and change everything. If you like the existing hardware but there are a lot of drips, you can take them apart and change the washers inside to bring them back to life.

New floor

If your bathroom has carpet, it is time to rip it out. Carpet in the bathroom is one of the most germ filled things ever! If you are not sure about how to do your floor, there are plenty of other options that don’t involve a shag pile rug. Tiles are a great option as they are hard wearing and will last for years if they are laid right. Wooden floors are another possibility that are hard wearing but they need a bit of extra care. Check out your options and decide what is the best option for you and your family.

New colour

If your walls are mainly plaster with the shower area being the area that is covered, you have the option to switch out the colours in your bathroom a lot. If you want to paint the walls of your bathroom, it is a good idea to use a paint that is designed for the bathroom so that it does not get mouldy. Kitchen and Bathroom paints are also wipeable and won’t be affected by the steam in the room. If you have the option to paint, you can change the look of the bathroom as much as you want. However, even just a fresh coat of white on the ceiling can make a huge difference.

New accessories

The items that we have in our bathrooms have probably been there for a long time and might be getting on in years. If you know that your accessories are getting on in years and are dragging down the look of the bathroom, it might be time to change them. This is true if you have wooden accessories that attach to the wall as these can become water marked and start to fall apart. Getting a toothbrush holder is not that hard and you can buy them in your local supermarket or discount store. You could change everything from the holders to the storage containers and shower curtain. If you can upgrade it, then look to see what your options are.
