3 Things To do Before Spring Starts
Spring is a beautiful season and one that many people regard as the ideal time for new beginnings; they are inspired to try new things, look for new opportunities, and move forward with their lives. This is a wonderful thing and can bring about a lot of good, but it is also a good idea to make some changes in your life and your home before spring starts. If you do this, you’ll be more ready for the new season and can concentrate on other things, boosting your productivity greatly. Read on to find out what you can do before Spring starts to help you get ahead.
Purge Anything You No Longer Want
Over Autumn and Winter, you may well have collected a lot more ‘things’ than you would at any other time of the year. Christmas is one big reason for this, but the cold weather is another; feeling gloomy and having to stay inside without seeing very much sunshine can lead people to make a lot more online purchases than they usually would; it’s a way to make themselves feel better.
So, as Winter ends, it’s a great time to look through everything in your home and declutter as much as you can. Anything you no longer need or want, anything that isn’t serving either a practical purpose or making you feel happy because it exists in your life, can be disposed of. You can bundle it all up and call a professional to take it away, you can sell it, you can store it (if you can’t bear to see it go), or even donate it to charity. A clean, clear home is a great way to get ready for Spring.
Make A Repair List
Now that Winter is coming to an end, did you notice anything happening in your home that might mean something has to be repaired? Were your heating and hot water as it should have been or was it a little cooler than expected? Now might be a good time for a new boiler quote, or perhaps it’s time to check the roof for holes and missing tiles. How about your outside steps? Were they a little slippery? Perhaps you should consider having them professionally cleaned or covering them with a slip-resistant material. Maybe you found your gutters were filling – and freezing – and you want to get them cleaned.
These are all useful jobs (and there are, of course, many more) to get done before next winter, so now that you’ve spotted them, you’ve got just about a year to get everything dealt with and paid for.
Make Summer Plans
It’s true, we haven’t had Spring yet, and we don’t want to wish the time away, but the end of Winter is the ideal time to start making Summer plans. Whether you intend to go away on vacation or you’re going to stay at home and have some great days out, or you just want some simple time to yourself, now is the time to plan it and, if need be, save up.
Not only will you have all your plans in place before you need to activate them, but this is also a fun task and one that will keep you happy during the last dark days of Winter.
