Egg box chicks

You will need:

Egg box

Paint or pens

Card

Feathers

Glue

Paintbrush

Scissors

Black pen or biro

Directions:

  1. Cut two cups from an egg box. The best type of carton to use is the cardboard kind. It soaks up paint much better. Make sure that you cut the cups apart so that they are two separate pieces. Trim the edges so that they are nice and smooth.

  2. Now tape the cups together along one edge. Set the cups down, side by side, with the inside facing up. Fold a strip of tape over the edges where the cups are touching, this tape will act as a hinge. If you do not have tape, cut a strip of the lid of the egg box and glue onto the back, this will work as the hinge. For extra security, add another piece on the outside also.

  3. Paint the egg cups inside and out. Leave to dry.

  4. From orange card, draw and cut two feet and a beak. If you do not have any orange card, use white card and paint it. If you wish to add wings, you can do this in the same technique also.

  5. Glue the feet and beak onto the painted chick.

  6. Glue feathers or cardboard feathers onto the head and add a tail if needed..

  7. Using a black pen or black biro, draw two eyes onto the face of the chick.

  8. To finish, fill the chick with sweet treats.
