Drill pumpkin lanterns

You will need:

Pumpkin

Knife

Spoon

Pen

Electric Drill

Drill bit

Cloth

Candle or battery powered lantern

Optional – Spray paint

Direction:

  1. Use a sharp serrated knife to carefully cut off the crown of the pumpkin.

  2. Using a large serving spoon, scoop out the seeds and fibres and discard. Then remove some of the flesh.

  3. Decorate the pumpkin with spray paint if needed.

  4. Using a pen, mark small dots on the outside of the pumpkin, in a design of your choice.

  5. Carefully drill holes over each dot, making sure the drill makes large enough holes so the inside of the pumpkin can be seen.

  6. Clear away any excess flesh and place a candle inside the pumpkin.
