Simply Duck Egg

Calming and soft – the perfect kitchen colour

Expert comment from Judy Smith, Crown’s Colour Consultant on Simply Duck Egg….

As seen in the picture above, Crown has decided to feature Simply Duck Egg in a kitchen setting. What is the thoughts behind this choice?

This is a good kitchen colour because it is so versatile. It can be the basis of a country look with light woods and creamy ceramics, or it can take on a much more contemporary feel with materials like stainless steel and granite

What would be a good pairing for this tone?

When it comes with pairing this with other colours, because it has a grey undertone, it works particularly well with soft whites and different shades of grey.

Why would you recommend the Crown Kitchen Collection to someone painting their kitchen for the first time?

If someone is painting their kitchen for the first time, I’d recommend Crown’s Kitchen Collection because of its special anti-bacterial formulation. It comes in a finish that can be used on wood and metal as well as walls. This is great in the kitchen where you have multi surfaces and often lots of windows and doors. Try painting these and radiators in the same colour as the walls for a cohesive look – and an unbroken background for kitchen cupboards and equipment.
